Groom Forgets to attend his Own Wedding.

A man in Kisauni Constituency in Mombasa has shocked many today after he 'forgot' to turn up to his own wedding!

Duncun Nyakundi,who is originally from Kisii,kept a very perplexed gathering at a local church waiting for hours.Efforts to find him on the phone proved futile as he was not picking up.The bride was beside herself with worry.She believed that something terrible must have happened to her husband-to-be because she was sure that Duncun would never bail on their wedding for anything.

The best-man,who was supposed to depart for the venue of the wedding with the groom and two other men,was none-the-wiser on the where abouts of Duncun.

What was supposed to be a joyous occasion quickly turned into a scene from a Nigerian movie with amateur actors.The bride's father was screaming bloody murder while the groom's family was trying to calm the other family down.

It was later revealed that Duncun had been holed up at a local pub where he had been watching a football match between Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion.He had gone in there minutes before the planned time to leave for the church.Apparently,he planned to swig down a beer to steady his nerves for the biggest occasion of his life.Tedious with the wedding plans,he had forgotten that his favourite team,Chelsea,had a match that day.He got so carried away with the very heated match that he never noticed time fly by.

It was only at the end of the match that he realised what had happened.Torn between downing a celebratory bottle for Chelsea's victory and making a very late appearance to his wedding,Duncun opted for the former because he was already a cooked turkey anyway.

What later happened between Duncun and his bride is anyone's guess but what we know for sure is that love cannot compete with a cold bottle of beer and football match.
